Integrating Academic Language Schoolwide: A Curriculum and Professional Development Intervention
Presenters: Deborah Short, Diane August, Jennifer Himmel, and Colleen Reutebuch
Presenters shared findings and classroom applications from a schoolwide intervention study that integrated academic language with social studies, science, math, and language arts for a national research center. This colloquium described the intervention, the integrated curricula, and SIOP professional development and coaching that supported implementation in eight middle schools.
