TOPIC: ROLE OF RESETTLEMENT AGENCY/COMMUNITY SERVICES (OPE CWS Accra)

Activity: What you will get / What you will not get

Objective

Students will be able to identify pictorially some services that Resettlement Agencies will provide within the first 30 days in the U. S.

Materials

Pictures in Workbook.

Time

2-3 minutes

Procedure

  1. Student review pictures

  2. Trainer proceeds by asking:

  • “Will the Resettlement Agency provide/assist with:

  • A computer?

  • A bed?

  • A car?

  • Some food?

  • A stereo?

  • Shoes?

  • Registering children in school?

  • A large amount of cash?

  • Students collectively give verbal “Yes/No” answers and ‘tick’ or ‘cross’ against the pictures as appropriate.

RESETTLEMENT AGENCY

  • Describe in your own words what it means to be SELF-SUFFICIENT.

  • Look at the pictures here. Mark a √ under those items that your anchor or the resettlement agency will provide for you. Mark an X under those items not provided by your anchor or the resettlement agency.
