Web Designer — Webmaster
Division: Computer Software Specialist II
Hours per week: Full time (35)
Salary: $55,746 - $77,983, depending on qualifications
Position Available: Immediately
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
Design new and maintain all existing Web sites according to pre-established specifications. Optimizing images for web user interface and print needs. Provide basic web metrics and manage search functionality on web pages. Serve as Communications liaison to IT Services for Web issues. Provide support for project Web content managers.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Director of Communications to plan and implement Web sites and enewsletters.

Design new and maintain our existing sites according to pre-established specifications, maintaining quality control and a consistent overall look and feel.

Develop web optimized images for all Web sites and print and maintain graphic library.

Serve as primary gatekeeper for posting content to Web.

Manage basic web metrics and search functionality for all Web sites.

Serve as liaison with IT Services on web-related issues.

Update selected pages on company Intranet.

Provide guidance for other web users in organization – providing orientation for use of Dreamweaver software, advising on web content issues, and setting up FTP sites for Web users.
- Make recommendations for Web updates and develop selected content for Web.
- Stay up to date on trends and technologies.
- Maintain web site archives.
- Assist with design and production of selected print publications.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in computer sciences, graphic design or web design preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in Web site development and design.
- Excellent Web site production skills including the ability to design using code as well as coding programs.
- Mastery of image optimization techniques and tools and knowledge of Web design constraints, including download times, browser differences, and web-safe palettes.
- Must have working knowledge of Dreamweaver and Photoshop. Experience with Illustrator, Click Tracks, or Google Search a plus.
- Must have the ability to perform image editing and web optimization as well as create any necessary electronic files to provide.
- Experience in creation of related multimedia content, such as photo galleries, slideshows and videos, a plus.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
