This presentation outlined important considerations for using the Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education for program self-evaluation, including engaging stakeholders, disseminating findings, and creating an action plan for improvement. Also discussed: the important processes of interpreting the key points for local contexts and finding and documenting evidence.

Intellectualism, Equity, & Leadership in Two-Way Immersion

This presentation highlighted a new book from Liz Howard and Julie Sugarman, Realizing the Vision of Two-Way Immersion: Fostering Effective Programs and Classrooms. Drawing on ten years of research, the authors illustrate how the cultures of intellectualism, equity and leadership reinforce positive instructional practices at four effective TWI schools.
