Dual Language Program Models: Greater Than the Sum of Their Parts
Designing a dual language program involves prioritizing and trade-offs. Participants will explore factors that influence program design (especially language allocation), the interrelationship of model components, and possible impacts of program design on outcomes, and will reflect on critical questions that can help focus program planning or the evaluation of established programs.

Linguistic and Cultural Equity in Dual Language Education
Educational equity is a central concept in dual language education. In this presentation, I will share findings from a recently-completed research project that explored the definitions and interpretations of equity in a diverse group of fifteen dual language teachers and administrators from across the United States. The findings illustrate program- and classroom-level policies and practices that contribute to or inhibit the creation of an equitable learning environment for linguistically diverse students.
