Materials to Help Adults With Low Literacy Boost Their Consumer and Literacy Skills
People with low literacy in English may be vulnerable to scams. Avoiding fraud is a practical life skill. Presenters share online, print, audio, and video materials they developed for this audience and discuss strategies for the use of these resources that can reinforce studentsí reading, writing, and listening skills.

Immigration Reform: Issues, Changes, Challenges, and Opportunities
This featured session will take a look at the big picture of immigration reform and its impact on English language learners and the programs that serve them. USCAL partners from the American Library Association, Center for Applied Linguistics, TESOL International Association, and Home Builders Institute will provide information on what how they are handling challenges and opportunities in immigration reform. Following the panelist presentations attendees will have the opportunity for Q&A.
