Researcher-Developed Assessments
As part of the work of the Acquiring Literacy in English initiative, various assessment instruments suited to the purposes of each research project or subproject were developed.

Acquiring Literacy in English was one component of a larger research initiative, Development of Literacy in Spanish Speakers (DeLSS), that was jointly organized and funded by the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) and the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the Department of Education. The development of these assessments was supported by Grant No. 5-P01-HD39530 from NICHD and IES.
Some of these assessment instruments can be made available to qualified researchers. To request the use of one or more assessments, complete and submit the Application Form for Use of ALE Researcher-developed Assessment Instruments.
