BEST Plus Scoring Refresher Toolkit

The BEST Plus Test Administrator Scoring Refresher Toolkit  has been developed as a means for previously-trained test administrators to receive comprehensive scoring review and practice. Recalibrating scoring through the use of the Toolkit ensures scoring accuracy and increases the confidence in scoring among trained test administrators and program administrators.

The Toolkit contains everything a program needs to hold a BEST Plus scoring refresher workshop within their organization, providing guidance for program administrators on how to implement a scoring refresher program and tools such as the facilitator workbook, a 90 minute interactive training video (available in either DVD or VHS format) that contains over 50 benchmark samples for scoring all areas of the rubric, and a second video containing 3 scoring activities that will test the scoring accuracy of participants. The Scoring Refresher Toolkit can also be used for individualized self-study.

CAL also offers a half-day scoring refresher training session. During these sessions, a CAL trainer will facilitate the scoring refresher training. State trainers can also provide refresher training using the BEST Plus Scoring Refresher Toolkit.
