Scoring Refersher Toolkit Cover ImageThe Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) now offers the BEST Plus Test Administrator Scoring Refresher Toolkit. This new product has been developed as a means for previously trained test administrators to receive comprehensive scoring review and practice. Recalibrating scoring through the use of the Toolkit ensures scoring accuracy and increases the confidence in scoring among trained test administrators and program administrators.

The Toolkit contains everything a program needs to hold a BEST Plus scoring refresher workshop within their organization. Included is guidance to program administrators to understand how to implement a scoring refresher program, facilitator materials and workbook, a 90 minute interactive training video/DVD that contains over 50 benchmark samples for scoring all areas of the rubric, and a second video/DVD containing 3 scoring activities that will test the scoring accuracy of participants.

CAL also offers a half-day scoring refresher training session. During these sessions, one of CAL’s trainers will travel to your site to facilitate the scoring refresher training.

The BEST Plus Test Administrator Scoring Refresher Toolkit is sold for $150.00 and contains:

  • Implementation guidelines for program administrators
  • Facilitator materials, including:

    • Sample agendas
    • Needs assessment
    • Workshop evaluations
    • Peer coaching guidelines

  • A 90 minute training video/DVD that contains over 50 benchmark samples for scoring all areas of the rubric
  • Another 90 minute video/DVD that contains 3 scoring activities
  • Answer keys and instructions for determining scoring accuracy
  • Teacher’s Edition Workbook  

Workbooks for test administrators are sold separately for $6 each.
