National Literacy Panel on Language-Minority Children and Youth
Searchable Database of Studies Included in the Report of the Panel

Using the Database

These two buttons allow you to access the database in two different ways.

Browse All Studies presents a list of all 293 studies in the database, showing Reference Number, Author(s), and Citation for each. You can use your mouse or the scroll bar on the right to move up and down the list.
Search Studies permits searching for a specific study or studies in the database. The first page that you see is a form that you can use to customize your search in several ways.

Special Instructions:

If you are searching for a study by an author whose surname is sometimes spelled with an accent mark or other diacritic, first try the spelling without the diacritic. Then, if the surname is one of the following, copy the name from this list and paste it into the Author search field.

Calderón Hastings-Góngora Ordóñez
García Monzó Ramírez
García-Vázquez

The search engine is hyphen sensitive. For a name or phrase that is sometimes written with a hyphen, first enter the form without the hyphen. Then try it again with the hyphen.

2nd Smith-Jones Spanish-speaking children
