By Plane

From Ronald Reagan National Airport

  • Taxi: You can reach the campus by taxi, which will cost approximately $12 to $15.
  • Metro Rail: You can also reach campus by taking the Metro Rail Blue Line (in the direction of Largo Town Center). Exit at the stop marked Rosslyn. From Rosslyn, you can take Metro Buses or Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) to the Georgetown area (see below—By Metro Rail and Metro Buses).
  • SuperShuttle: SuperShuttle is a shared ride service. You can make a reservation from their website at http://www.supershuttle.com/Default.aspx

From Dulles International Airport

  • Taxi: From Dulles, a taxi will cost approximately $50 to $60 to Georgetown.
  • Coach to Metro: You can take Washington Flyer Coach to West Falls Church Metro Rail Station (Orange Line). Regular fare is $10 one-way, $18 round trip. From the West Falls Church Metro Rail Station, you can take the Orange Line (in the direction of New Carrollton) to Rosslyn. From Rosslyn, you can take Metro Buses or Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) to the Georgetown area (see below—By Metro Rail and Metro Buses).   • Bus to Metro: Metrobus 5A operates an express route between Dulles Airport and Washington, DC (L’Enfant Plaza). To reach Georgetown, get off at the Rosslyn Metro stop. From Rosslyn, you can take Metro Buses or Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) to the Georgetown area (see below—By Metro Rail and Metro Buses). Bus fare is $3.10 one-way.
  • SuperShuttle: SuperShuttle is a shared ride service. You can make a reservation from their website at http://www.supershuttle.com/Default.aspx

By Train

If you are traveling by train, you will arrive at Union Station. On the lower level of the train station is the Metro Rail Station. You can take the Red Line (in the direction of Shady Grove) to Dupont Circle. From Dupont Circle, you can take Metro Buses or Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) to the Georgetown area (see below—By Metro Rail and Metro Buses).

By Metro Rail and Metro Bus

Metro Rail trains and Metro Buses are operated by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority. For more information including a real-time trip planner, please check their website at http://wmata.com

  • Rosslyn Station: The closest Metro Rail Station to Georgetown University is Rosslyn on the Blue and Orange Lines. From Rosslyn Station, you can take Metro Bus 38B (in the direction of Farragut Square) or the Georgetown Metro Connection (http://www.georgetowndc.com/getting-here/shuttle) to the stop M Street and 34th Street. You can then walk from there to the Georgetown University main gate. You can also take the Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) from Rosslyn (the stop is at 19th and Moore Streets).   • Dupont Circle Station: From Dupont Circle Station (on the Metro Rail Red Line), you can take Metro Bus G2 (towards Georgetown University) or Metro Bus D2 (towards Glover Park). Metro Bus G2 stops right in front of the Georgetown University main gate. You should depart Metro Bus D2 at the stop Q Street and 35th Street and walk 2 blocks south to O Street, turn right on O Street and walk 2 blocks west to the front gates. You can also take the Georgetown University Transportation Shuttle (GUTS) from Dupont Circle (the stop is at 20th Street and Massachusetts Avenue). By Car

To access driving directions to Georgetown University from an online mapping service, please use 3700 O St, NW, 20057 as the destination address. Use of public transportation is suggested, as parking around Georgetown can be very difficult.

Parking

Street parking is limited for two hours and is strictly enforced by police. A limited number of metered spaces are available on Reservoir Road, 37th Street, and Prospect Street.

A limited number of visitor parking spaces are available in the Southwest Garage. You need to take the Canal Road entrance to Georgetown University. The Parking rate is $3 per hour, or $15 per day during the week. On weekends, the Southwest Garage is open to visitors free of charge.
