Teaching World Languages to Children: Lessons Learned Over Three Decades

Building well-articulated, proficiency-focused elementary school language programs continues to be a challenge. This session presents results of a research study that, through interviews with 16 educators, investigated the successes and challenges, over 30 years, of teaching languages to children. Lessons learned for developing stronger, more sustainable programs will be discussed.
