Participants learn to implement a research-based approach for developing vocabulary with ELLs through read-alouds of high-quality children’s literature. Presenters demonstrate the method for identifying and teaching high-frequency academic vocabulary and then guide participants in using the approach, which includes multimodal vocabulary instruction and a variety of reinforcement activities.
