This Education Connections webinar will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm EDT. Dr. Margarita Calderón will provide participants with (1) an overview and modeling of select evidence-based instructional strategies K-12 teachers can use in all subjects, and (2) presentation of models of successful schools and discussion of features and processes for implementing and sustaining success with ELLs and all students.
Dr. Margarita Calderón is Professor Emerita and Senior Research Scientist at the Johns Hopkins University School of Education. She is currently working with the North Carolina, New Mexico, and Virginia State Departments of Education as they implement her ExC-ELL programs throughout the states. She also works with school districts in several other states providing whole-school professional development for core content teachers and administrators. She conducts keynote presentations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, Mexico, Central and South America. She has also served on national panels, including the National Research Council’s Committee on Teacher Preparation, the National Literacy Panel for Language Minority Children and Youth, and the Carnegie Adolescent ELL Literacy Panel.
