DCPS Uses New Approach to Develop Dual Language Immersion Programs

D.C. Public Schools (DCPS) is changing how they structure professional development (PD) programming for dual immersion teachers in an effort to better coordinate and ensure the quality of dual immersion programs citywide. This year, DCPS is assembling all teachers from their elementary dual immersion schools together for their mandatory district professional development, which is a shift from having dual immersion teachers received most of their PD with other mainstream teachers, who often are not working in immersion settings.
