Students learn Mandarin or Spanish First, Then English, at Popular Denver Public School

Students attending a Denver immersion charter school learn core subjects in Spanish or Mandarin from kindergarten to second grades before starting start formal English language instruction when they reach third grade. Officials say students adapt quickly to learning English after being immersed in their adopted language and perform well in other subjects and on exams.
