ERIC/CLL Article Published in PTA Magazine

An article by ERIC/CLL staff member Kathleen Marcos appeared in the August/September issue of Our Children, the magazine of the national PTA. "Learning a Second Language: What Parents Need to Know" answers parents' common questions about early language learning and offers suggestions for establishing a program and for finding additional information. TESOL

The fall 1998 issue of TESOL Journal (Volume 7, Number 5), edited by ERIC/CLL Director Joy Kreeft Peyton and CAL research associate Carolyn Temple Adger, focuses on teaching immigrant students in secondary school. Topics include creating structures that promote student achievement, the inclusion of secondary ESOL students in mainstream classrooms, teacher-student interaction in content courses, and professional development of teachers working with immigrant students.
