Secondary School Newcomer Programs in the United States

This data-rich report presents a 4-year study of newcomer programs in the United States. Researchers used a detailed questionnaire to collect and synthesize data on many characteristics of existing newcomer programs, describing the populations served and the rationale for program development. The report also presents findings regarding program features, instructional design, student assessment, staffing, professional development, and parent and community connections. 2003.
