Workshops and training of trainers for teachers of English as a second language
Language learners want to be able to read and comprehend their new
language, access information, make meaningful connections, and express
themselves clearly both orally and in writing. CAL's professional
development sessions provide teachers with a variety of effective
strategies they can use to help their English language learners meet
these goals and be more successful in school. We provide services
that are developed and taught by experts in the field of English
language learning and can meet the needs of teachers in mainstream and ESL classrooms as well as dual language specialists.
Professional development using research-based materials developed by CAL
Staff development is available based on the CAL professional development
materials listed below. CAL can deliver this training through one-time
workshops, a series of inservice seminars, or for-credit courses
(in person or online). We also offer training of trainer workshops
using these materials. Click on each title below for more information
