Helping Educators Work Effectively with English Language Learners
SIOP Lesson Plans
These exemplary SIOP lesson plans were developed by teachers involved in the foundational SIOP research study. Learn more about SIOP research.
We invite you to read them individually or with your colleagues in order to learn more about the SIOP Model*. You may want to discuss why these lessons are effective for English learners or how to incorporate the SIOP strategies these teachers used in your own lessons. The first six lessons are featured in our two SIOP videos.
CAL is expanding its collection of teacher-developed SIOP materials with updates of lesson and unit plans from our current research and professional development projects.

Short) under the auspices of the Center for Research on Education, Diversity & Excellence (CREDE), a national research center funded by the U.S. Department of Education from 1996 through 2003.
