Learn how to use the What’s Different? materials to provide professional development to educators who teach reading in classes with English language learners.
Participants will receive the complete training materials, recommendations on how to deliver What's Different? trainings, hands-on experience using the materials, training tips and much more! The What's Different? Training of Trainers Institute is designed for elementary and middle school ESL and reading specialists who have experience providing professional development to teachers. An ideal training team includes an ESL and a reading specialist. The ideal recipients of your training will be teachers who serve ELL students in the general education classroom.
What's Different? incorporates key findings from the National Literacy Panel (2006). Connections will be made with the Common Core State Standards.
