La Cosecha 2011 Conference
Dual Language Education of New Mexico invites educators, parents, and researchers to the 16th Annual La Cosecha Dual Language Conference, November 16-19 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The theme of the conference is Reforzando puentes entre idiomas: Strengthening bridges between our languages and cultures.

Improving Education for English Learners: Research-Based Approaches
This volume provides a review and analysis of research on improving educational outcomes for English learners. The publication is intended to assist school districts in designing, implementing, and evaluating programs for English learners and addresses critical questions for educators about optimizing English language and literacy development and content instruction. CAL contributors include Diane August, Deborah Short, and CAL Trustee Fred Genesee.

Redesigning English-Medium Classrooms: Using Research to Enhance English Learner Achievement
This book serves as a guide for teachers and school leaders on practical applications of the research reviewed in the publication Improving Education for English Learners: Research-Based Approaches (see above). It includes descriptions of program models, delivery of standards-based instructional services, and approaches to enhancing core learning components. CAL contributors include Diane August, as well as CAL Board of Trustees members Fred Genesee and Reynaldo Macías.
