Project

National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition (NCELA)

The U.S. Department of Education, Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA) has awarded the contract for the National Clearinghouse for English Language Acquisition (NCELA) to Leed Management Consulting, Inc. (LMCi). CAL was a partner for the NCELA project from September 2013 to March 2016.

NCELA serves as the primary vehicle for OELA to collect, analyze, synthesize and disseminate high-quality information using a variety of mechanisms, including a dedicated website. The NCELA staff is working with OELA, the Offices of Elementary and Secondary Education (OESE), and the U.S. Department of Education to redesign the NCELA website to offer enhanced functionality, accurate and updated data, practical and useful resources for the EL education community, and additional features that ensure an efficient and productive user experience.
