Preservation of Heritage Languages as a Way to Promote Social Cohesion and Integration

Each presenter discusses the population of speakers of the language in the United States; heritage language programs to build the proficiency of these speakers; and ways that these speakers, their communities, and their language and cultural programs promote social cohesion and integration into U.S. culture. This is followed by discussant comments and general questions and comments. Languages addressed in this session: French, Chinese, Spanish, Ukrainian.
