Students ages 3 to 5 in Juneau, Alaska, soon will have the opportunity to learn the Tlingit language, Lingit, when a language immersion preschool opens its doors. The child care program, believed to be first of its kind in the city, will be designed to teach the indigenous language to young learners to increase the number of fluent speakers of Lingit and revitalize the language.
