Research Claims New Gaelic Speakers are 'Developing a Glasgow Accent'

Glasgow, Scotland, residents who are new speakers of Gaelic appear to have an accent that varies from the traditional Gaelic, linguistics specialist Claire Nance says. After comparing individual sounds and intonation among various speakers, she found that the latter group used a "Glaswegian intonation" when speaking Gaelic.
