Using the SIOP Model to Address the Language Demands of the CCSS: Extending Think-Pair-Share
Think-pair-share is a widely used activity that teachers use to implement the features of the Interaction component. Spotlight: SIOP Training of Trainers Institutes
July 14-17, 2014 ♦ Washington, DC

SIOP TOT institutes are designed to help participants develop and deliver the SIOP Model professional development. These comprehensive and interactive institutes are modeled after CAL SIOP workshops and based on the resource, Using the SIOP Model: Professional Development Manual for Sheltered Instruction.

To meet the needs of all participants, two strands of the SIOP TOT institutes are offered: SIOP TOT: Foundations and SIOP TOT: Advanced. (If you need help determining which strand is best for you, please contact the CAL SIOP team.)

CAL SIOP Professional Development Services
The CAL SIOP team collaborates with schools, states, and districts to design and conduct SIOP Model professional development programs to meet their particular needs. Based on requests by districts and schools, CAL has developed SIOP workshops designed for specific grade level and/or content areas with a recent focus on delivering professional development services to early childhood teachers.

We can also complement SIOP teacher workshops with coaching and lesson study services to assist teachers as they learn to incorporate the features of the SIOP Model into their lesson design and delivery.
