SIOP TOT institutes are designed to help participants develop and deliver the SIOP Model professional development. These comprehensive and interactive institutes are modeled after CAL SIOP workshops and based on the resource, Using the SIOP Model: Professional Development Manual for Sheltered Instruction.

Two strands of the SIOP TOT institutes are offered:

SIOP TOT: Foundations
December 8-11, 2014
July 20-23, 2015
November 16-19, 2015

This institute is designed for those with a basic knowledge of the SIOP Model through some past SIOP Model workshop attendance or self-study. Participants will acquire a solid foundation of the SIOP Model and the knowledge and skills to help PreK-12 teachers better integrate content and language instruction for English learners.

SIOP TOT: Advanced
December 8-11, 2014
July 27-30, 2015
November 16-19, 2015

This institute is designed for those with an advanced level of knowledge of the SIOP Model. Participants will review and renew specific features of the SIOP Model in order to deepen their knowledge of the model. They will also expand their skills in supporting teachers’ SIOP implementation.
