Consultant Opportunity for Literacy Experts in French, Haitian Creole, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese
The Center for Applied Linguistics is currently seeking literacy experts in French, Haitian Creole, Mandarin, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese to support a project to identify early literacy screening assessments in these languages.
This project is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education.
Consultant responsibilities include contributing to a literature review; providing input on the assessment criteria to consider when evaluating early literacy screening measures; participating in the review of early literacy screening tools; participating in informational videos for families; and attending meetings with members of the research team as needed.
The ideal candidates will have deep knowledge of literacy in and command of one of the six languages listed above.
Consultants will be asked to complete between 20 and 50 hours of work from September 2024 to June 2025, and meetings will be conducted during standard business hours (9AM-5PM) Eastern Time.
