STARTALK Career Pathways Project Internship

The Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL) is seeking an intern to support the STARTALK Career Pathways project. This project involves the development and dissemination of materials highlighting federal government career opportunities for heritage language learners of five focal languages: Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Persian, and Russian.

Tasks may include conducting online research; helping to schedule and conduct video interviews; contributing to the development of resources; survey data cleaning, coding, and analysis; writing and editing reports; and other tasks as assigned.

This internship position is funded for up to 15 hours per week at $19.10/hour from June 2022 through August 2022, with the potential to continue into the fall. This position is remote, however, candidates for this position are preferred to reside within the DC Metro area (DC/Maryland/Virginia) to help with in-person video interviews, and preference will also be given to those who are heritage learners of one of the focal languages (i.e., someone with a cultural or familial relationship to the language).

Please note that candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents admitted to the U.S. for permanent residence to comply with the eligibility requirements of our grant.
