As Project Manager, Chelsea Lafferty leads the work on research, development, and sponsored projects implemented by CAL’s Adult Language & Communication department; which includes planning, budgeting, oversite, and operations. Her area of interests are cultural diversity, immigration integration & inclusion, cultural humility, cultural orientation, and refugee & immigrant issues. She also creates and deliver professional development services (face-to-face and online) on a variety of topics spanning K-12 and adult education.
Chelsea has over 7 years of experience working with immigrants and refugees domestically and internationally. She’s had the pleasure of working in immigration integration overseas in South Africa alongside UNHR, as well as working in refugee resettlement domestically in Nashville, TN & New Orleans, LA. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s in Social Work, and is a certified Global Social Worker by Tulane University as well as a Licensed Master Level Social Worker by the Maryland State Board of Social Work Examiners.
