Sheltered Instruction


The use of a number of techniques, such as scaffolding, adapting texts, integrating language and content concepts, emphasizing key vocabulary, connecting new learning to background and prior knowledge, and providing opportunities for interaction, to make academic content comprehensible for language learners.
