DeAnne Hunter, Ph.D., is the Manager of Writing Test Development for the WIDA suite of English language proficiency assessments. She earned her Ph.D. in Speech and Hearing Science from Arizona State University. Her work spans literacy and cognitive assessment for multilingual learners, with a focus on students with or at risk for dyslexia, as well as literacy and language interventions for children from diverse language backgrounds. Since completing her Ph.D., she has consulted on educator preparation program improvement initiatives, literacy professional learning design and implementation, and K–5 language and literacy curriculum development to improve educational outcomes for multilingual learners.
