Multilingual learners possess something remarkable: languaging practices and meaning-making strategies through which they fluidly understand the world around them. Too often, those resources go unseen. Participants will explore practical shifts to affirm what multilingual learners already bring and extend those resources toward greater academic power and language development. This session is grounded in the understanding that language and culture shape how we think, connect, and become. When we affirm and extend languaging practices, that are already in motion, we don’t just support positive academic outcomes; we also enact human-centered instruction.
