Bilingual Education: Inclusion and Excellence

To highlight some of the characteristics of bilingual education that have been insufficiently emphasized up to now, such as inclusion and excellence. Since the main objective of bilingual education is to provide students with the highest possible level of linguistic competence, it should be emphasized that this search for quality and excellence is not only not at odds with the concept of inclusion, but on the contrary, it promotes it. The inclusion of all students in a school in the bilingual program and the attention to diversity are factors that are worked on in bilingual schools, just as they are in non-bilingual schools.
