Assessment to Enhance English Literacy Development Among Spanish-Speaking Children in Grades K-3 (PALS EspaƱol)

This project involves developing Spanish versions of the existing Phonological Awareness Literacy Screening instruments (PALS-K and PALS 1-3). PALS EspaƱol will identify studentsā€™ literacy strengths in their native Spanish language in order to accelerate English reading and spelling development and distinguish between students who simply have English oral language delays and those who have actual reading difficulties. CALā€™s role is to provide Spanish linguistic expertise.
