Sharry Vahed is a Test Assembly Project Manager at the Center for Applied Linguistics (CAL), where she oversees all activities related to the assembly of WIDA ACCESS, both online and paper-based. In this role, Sharry ensures the accuracy and quality of test content, coordinates with cross-functional teams, and manages workflows to meet production timelines. She also implements quality control measures to maintain alignment with assessment standards.
Before joining CAL, Sharry worked as a Language Assessment Specialist at Purdue University for five years, focusing on the development, validation, and administration of language proficiency assessments for International Teaching Assistants. Prior to that, Sharry taught Academic Writing and Research to college students.
Sharry holds a PhD in Second Language Studies from Purdue University. Her research has centered on the assessment of Reading for Academic Purposes and the assessment of Oral English Proficiency among international students in the U.S.
