Yisel joined CAL’s Language Assessment Division in November 2024 as a Language Testing Specialist, developing and refining test items for the WIDA ACCESS for ELLs assessment. She primarily works with the elementary grade clusters across the four language domains of Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening.

Prior to joining CAL, she served as an Elementary teacher for multiple years and then as an Interventionist for grades K-12 in Florida, focusing on the ELL population. She then transitioned into the roles of School Assessment and ESOL Coordinator.  She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Early Childhood Education with ESOL and Reading Endorsements from Florida International University. She also holds a Master of Education (M.Ed.) degree in Educational Leadership from the University of West Florida. In her spare time, Yisel enjoys visiting Disney World and reading psychological thrillers.
