Description:
Across the country, educators and advocates are working to keep schools a safe space for learning for all students. This town hall-style conversation will focus on the constitutional and legal provisions that protect immigrant students’ rights to attend school safely. These rights serve as the foundation for safe zone declarations and educator guidance being developed in many U.S. schools and districts. In addition to featured speakers, educators from several states and districts will share how they have developed and communicated policies to create a safe, welcoming environment for students, families, and communities.
