Communicative Math and Science Teaching. (1990)
This video aims to help teachers integrate language learning and academic mastery in math and science. It is designed for teacher trainers who provide pre- and in-service programs to mathematics, science, and language teachers. The video illustrates ways in which language, math, and science teachers can promote classroom discourse characterized by inquiry, problem-solving, clarification and justification of ideas, and teacher-student interaction. It uses a documentary approach, with examples from elementary, middle, and high schools nationwide. (Funded by the Carnegie Corporation of New York and the Xerox Foundation.)
