Sing a Song Together (PREP- Preparing Refugees for Elementary Programs). (1987)
CAL’s Refugee Service Center produced a 400-hour English as a Second Language program to prepare young Southeast Asian refugees for school in the United States. To provide U.S. audiences with a first-hand look at PREP, CAL produced a documentary, Sing a Song Together, about the program in Bataan, Philippines. It tells the story of a young refugee student in the PREP program, with an update at her new school in California. The documentary won a CINE Golden Eagle Award and a silver medal at the International Film and TV Festival of New York in 1988.
